

Wilma Bercegeay Johnson, age 79, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, May 22, 2015. She was a native and resident of Gonzales. Wilma loved to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and playing cards. Wilma liked to spend her free time at The Boat and was a faithful Dolphins and Saints Fan. She enjoyed watching LSU football and baseball. For most of her life, Wilma worked at Janice LeBlanc's. She retired from KMart after 10 faithful years of employment there. Wilma was a parishioner at St. Mark Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Mark Alter Society and Adoration Chapel. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Monica Bourque and husband, Danny; sons, Mark Johnson and wife, Cathy, Dwayne Johnson and wife, Lynn, Darin Johnson and wife, Tessa; sisters, Ozile Babin, Ruby Lee Babin, Elva Mae Nealy; brothers, Carbett Bercegeay and wife, Beverly, Wilfred "Ponk" Bercegeay and wife, Sue, Valmon Bercegeay and wife, Rita; grandchildren, Dylan Bourque and wife, Desiree, Derek Bourque, Joshua Johnson and wife Lori, Jamie Johnson, Crystal Johnson, David Johnson, Leigh Johnson and wife, Mollie, Kayla Westbrook and husband, Terry, Jr. ; great grandchildren, Ryder Bourque, Rowan Bourque, Zachary Banker, Bailey Hughes, Callie Johnson, Trey Johnson, Liam Guitreau, and Lola Johnson; brother-in-law, Bernard Bourgeois; sister-in-law, Glenda Bercegeay. She is preceded in death by her husband, Perry Johnson; parents, Rudolph and Vella Bercegeay; brothers, Carmen Bercegeay and Wilbert "Pete" Bercegeay; sister Mary Lee Bourgeois. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 celebrated by Fr. Ruben Reynolds. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dylan Bourque, Derek Bourque, Joshua Johnson, David Johnson, Leigh Johnson, and Terry Westbrook, Jr. Zachary Banker, Trey Johnson, Ryder Bourque, Rowan Bourque and Liam Guitreau will serve as honorary pallbearers.
