Winnie May Brignac

Winnie May Brignac, age 92, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 in Gonzales. Winnie was born in Gonzales and was a resident of Lake. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Myra Newby (Adrian) and Mary Gaudin (Hewitt); sons and daughters-in-law Greg Brignac (Arlene), Glen Brignac, Val Brignac and Gordon Ray Brignac (Donna); sisters Catherine Ficklin, Verna Ambeau, Ella Rose Berthelot and Ann McGowan; brother James Smith (Sylvia); sister-in-law Audrey Brignac Smith; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents Harry and Rena LeBlanc Smith, first husband Gordon Brignac, second husband LeRoy Simoneaux, brother Louis E. D. Smith, sister Janet Amedee and infant twins. Visitation is scheduled Thursday, June 22, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales from 9AM until Mass of Christian burial at 11AM. Burial will follow at Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blane Brignac, Brian Brignac, Shannon Lanoux, Brad Lanoux, Scott Brignac, Joseph Gaudin, Brandon Brignac and Hewitt Gaudin. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Lanoux.
