Leonard Brandt was born on January 29, 1919 in Brenham, TX to the late Mr. Erwin and Mrs. Lillie Brandt. Leonard passed away at the prime age of 93 on March 3, 2012 at Audie L. Murphy Memorial in San Antonio, TX. Leonard was a friendly, warm, inviting person who enjoyed spending time with his family. Leonard served in the United States Army during World War II. He later married the love of his life Dorothy on November 3, 1948 in Shelby, TX. They soon resided in Gonzales, TX and raised their four sons. Leonard worked for 39 years as a manager for the Perry Company. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Lions Club and the Lutheran Brotherhood all of Gonzales He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend whom was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister. Leonard is survived by his wife and sons: Wayne and wife Barbara Brandt of Aurora Colorado, Larry Brandt of New Braunfels, Don Brandt of Gonzales and Kenneth and wife Allison Brandt of Waddell, Arizona. Leonard also leaves behind ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.
Visitation for Mr. Leonard Brandt will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 8 am held at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales. Interment following at the Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ildiko Rigney officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home, Gonzales, TX.
