Lillie Garvel

March 29, 1922—February 23, 2011

Lillie Vinklarek-Garvel was born on March 29, 1922 in Dilworth, TX to the late Mr. James Vinklarek and Betty Palitza- Vinklarek. Lillie married the late Simon “Sam” Garvel in Gonzales, TX at St. James Church on June 1, 1943. Lillie retired from the local North Avenue Elementary School in Gonzales, TX after 20 years. Mrs. Lillie E. Garvel passed early Wednesday morning February 23, 2011 in Elgin, TX. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all. Lillie is preceded in death by her loving parents, husband, daughter Barbara Ann Garvel, and sister Marie Waller. She is survived by her son Robert Garvel of McDade, TX; daughter Linda and James Hamann of Coupland, TX; two sisters: Tillie Evan and Anna Laura Burger of Gonzales, TX; six grandchildren: Pamela Adams, Brian Garvel, Christina Garvel, Matt Hamann, John Hamann, and Andrew Hamann; three great grandchildren: Hillary Adams, William Adams and Grace Adams, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Services for Lillie Garvel held at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales, TX on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services for Mrs. Lillie Garvel are Saturday morning, February 26, 2011 at 10:00am held at the St. James Catholic Church with burial to follow at the St. James Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Brian Garvel, David Burger, Gerald Berger, Matt Hamann, John Hamann and Andrew Hamann.
