Arvin Wayne Brakke, age 78, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Vienna, South Dakota Wednesday, June 26, 1935 to the late Lars Edward and Julia Larson Brakke.
A retired programming manager for IBM after 35 years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, RVing, canoeing, his church, his family and million dollar fudge.
Mr. Brakke is survived by his wife of 56 years, Roneau Lee Brakke; (they have been together since they were 15 and 18); daughters, Debra Coleen Cole and her husband, David; Sherri Lee Brakke and her fiancé Jim Walker; sister, Loris June Carlson and her husband, Robert; granddaughters, Rebecca Lee Thornton and her husband, Matthew, Laura Lee Cole, Amanda Lee Cole, great-granddaughter, Zoey Lee Thornton.
A Celebration of Life will be 10:00 Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tim Stutler officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Brakke at a visitation Saturday morning from 8:30 until 10:00 at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church 110 Main Street Goodlettsville, TN
