Billye Anne Locke, our beloved mother and grandmother, while surrounded by her children, was gloriously transformed and joyfully welcomed into her new eternal home with the LORD on March 31, 2016 at 2:30pm, leaving behind forever the illnesses that had gradually debilitated and eventually took her earthly life. Left also behind momentarily were her beloved children, grand children and great grandchildren who all had been wonderfully impacted by this incredible lady, this class act. Mums, as she was affectionately known by her family, brought and taught life changing encouragement, heartfelt passion, strong convictions, spirited enthusiasm, a servant’s heart and attitude, godly advice and wisdom and proper respect and love to and for those with whom you come into contact. When the storms of life blew, Mums was always a rock of stability in which to anchor and a compass upon whom to look. She was also an incomparable cook, known for her fabulous biscuits. For all of these many things and much much more, her family was richly blessed and is forever indebted. Her success also reached well beyond her family to the business world in which she diligently served. She achieved noteworthy accomplishments working in the Dry Goods industry first with the Harris, Davis and Company and then the Washington Manufacturing Company, both located in Downtown Nashville. Rising from an entry level bookkeeping position, she ended her career as an executive and officer of the company. Billye Anne was born on April 16, 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee to Clayton Joyce Thompson and Mary Brittan (Crowell) Renfro who both preceded her in death. Also preceding her were brother, Joe Thompson, and her beloved husband of 60 years Roy Howard Locke, Sr. (Gooddaddy). Surviving her departure with joy in knowing that this family matriarch is finally and victoriously Home with the Lord, are her three sons, Roy Howard (Dianne) Locke, Jr. of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Joseph Randal (Teresa) Locke of Brentwood, Tennessee, Jeffrey Alan (Kathy) Locke of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; ten grandchildren, Trey (Bobbi) Locke, Cortney (Bubba) Locke Smith, Kathy (Matt) Locke May, Jody (Lea) Locke, Tiffany (Watt) Locke Bain, Alan (Kathryn) Locke, Lindsey (Taylor) Locke Dartt, Alexis (Turner) Locke Williamson, Taylor Locke, and Andy Locke; and by her eighteen great grandchildren. Billye Anne was an active member through her many years of life at Maplewood, Broadmoor, Goodlettsville First and Brentwood Baptist Churches. Though Mums is sorely missed and never to be replaced, the family looks forward to the day when we once again share time with our incredible mother, grandmother, encourager, advisor and friend together in heaven with Gooddaddy in the presence of our Lord and Savior. You can never lose someone when you know where they are. Active Pallbearers will be Mum’s grandsons through birth and marriage. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10th at the Forest Lawn Chapel. Interment will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation Saturday 4-6 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 – 2:00p.m. FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Dickerson Rd, Goodlettsville, TN 37072 - (615) 859-5279.
