She was born and raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in the small town of Madisonville, TN. Here she developed a love for cooking and became quite adept at it. Through her youth she found a love for animals of all kinds, going on to later own and love many dogs, cats, horses, and birds throughout her lifetime.
Cultivating a passion for people, she owned and operated the once-popular lounge the Downtowner located in Goodlettsville, TN where she filled her days and nights with live music, dancing, and laughter. After marrying her beloved husband, Paul, they successfully opened Zippy Mart in Millersville, TN. Together, they grew Zippy Mart to become a much-loved pillar of the community. Bobbie & Paul established an environment of kindness, safety and compassion while making sure every person who came in felt like family. They never hesitated to lend a hand wherever they could.
In her later years, Bobbie enjoyed travelling with her husband & spending much of her time on Old Hickory Lake surrounded by many cherished friends. She was a member of the Old Hickory Yacht Club and valued the friendships she made among other boaters. She had an active social life that included hosting friends and family, pig roasts on their old farm, and Bunco game nights with her girlfriends.
She loved her family fiercely and without wavering. Known as “Nanny” to her grandkids and great-grand kids, she found great joy and excitement in watching them grow and learn. She would go on to support them in any way that she could. After selling their houseboat, they purchased a home with a pool so that their grandkids always had a place to swim and enjoy long summer days and nights; they loved watching them splash around having fun
Bobbie is leaving behind a legacy of generosity, compassion, and grace. She will be extremely missed and always remembered for the light that she was to those around her.
