Carolyn Jo Elrod

Carolyn Jo Elrod, age 87, of White House, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was born Tuesday, November, 8, 1938 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Willie Lee Underhill and Pauline Corlew Underhill; her husband of nearly 50 years, James (Jimmy) Elrod; her sister, Velma Hart; brother, Raymond Underhill; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Hudgins and Danny McEuen.

Carolyn is survived by sisters, Peggy (Randy) Harrell and Etta McEuen and sister-in-law Peggy Underhill. She is survived by her son, Wendell (Charlene) Elrod and daughter, Judy (Troy) Snyder. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Joshua Snyder (Kirsten), Chase (Abbie) Snyder, Heath (Lauren) Snyder, Taylor (Bryson) Brickles and Traci Elrod. Two great-granddaughters Kennedy Snyder and Macy Lea Snyder.

She was a 1956 graduate of Madison High School, who became a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from a career with National Life and Accident Insurance Company.

In the early 2000's around the time of her retirement, she and her husband Jimmy moved away from Madison to a new home in White House, Tennessee.

Carolyn was a long time member of Madison Church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee. More recently was a member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ for the last 23 years. After placing membership, she helped with the ladies class and sewing ministry and helped with the clothing ministry as well. She spent many hours enjoying her grandchildren and supporting their efforts in school, sports and extracurricular activities. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 pm. in the chapel of Forest Lawn with Bro. Dan Dozier officiating.

Burial will be in Music Row at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
