Born to his proud parents, Edgar and Effie Loftis McBroom on February 6, 1938, Cecil worked for many years with his brothers Owen & Earl McBroom, who were owners of their company McBroom Brothers Drywall. Cecil was a master in drywalling houses and has left his mark on so many houses around Goodlettsville and outlying areas of Tennessee. He was well known for his craftsmanship as a drywaller.
Cecil was considered by his family as a "Johnny-on-the-Spot." Anything that needed to be fixed or maintained, whether it was something in the house, the house itself or one of the vehicles, he had it covered. He never met a challenge that he didn't succeed at. He was a dedicated husband and father and modeled clearly what a great dad and husband did, day in and day out.
Once his brothers both retired, Cecil took up a new trade at Anchor Wire in Goodlettsville and left an outstanding legacy there. His endurance was unmatched compared to his younger coworkers and when he finally retired, the machines that he worked with had to be retired too. None of the other workers could get the machines to work for them.
A man of few words, Cecil was one you could always trust and rely on. He always kept his word. Cecil was an honest, hard-working man with a kind soul who loved his family very much; and his family returned that love with the same respect and devotion. He took good care of his mom as she aged, as well as, looked after his mother-in-law when she was in great need. As his wife's health progressively got worse, Cecil was constant in his care for her. He will be dearly missed, though never forgotten.
Cecil is survived by his son Kenneth Wayne (Gloria) McBroom; daughter Linda Ruth (Phillip) Anderson; step-grandchildren Joe Martin, Philip (Christy) Martin, Michelle (David) Lawson; (8) step-great grandchildren; sister Trish Clinard; sister-in-law Bertie (Donald) Camey; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Helen Ruth; his parents Edgar and Effie McBroom; brothers Oliver (Rachel) McBroom, Owen (Margie) McBroom, Earl (Inez) McBroom, Ann (James) Tilman, Shirley (Judy) Barnett, Thelma (Charlie) Pugh, Polly (Roscoe) Bise, Dee (George) Sutton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Juliet Fellowship, to begin at 12pm, with Interment to follow, all at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 S. Dickerson Pike Rd., Goodlettsville, TN 37072
John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Psalm 103:1-12 Praise the Lord, I tell myself; with my whole heart, I will praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, I tell myself, and never forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He ransoms me from death and surrounds me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles! The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. He reveals His character to Moses and His deeds to the people of Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious; He is slow to get angry and full of unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He has not punished us for all our sins, nor does He deal with us as we deserve. For His unfailing love toward those who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west.
