Chester Phillip Cornett was born on January 26th, 1952 in Harlan, KY to Chester and Patricia (Dempsey) Cornett. He was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School class of 1970 where he played football and enjoyed cruising around East Nashville with his best friends (you know who you are). He went on to receive his Associates of Science (A.S.) Degree from Columbia State Community College. After college he held multiple positions in the accounting and finance world before ultimately landing in the Real Estate and Mortgage industry. He spent the balance of his career as a Loan Originator where he loved helping others navigate the home buying process. He was very successful in everything he did and helped so many people throughout his career.
Phil spent his early childhood years in the mountains of Harlan, KY which fostered his love for the outdoors. Nature was his place of peace and where he enjoyed communing with God, and he loved nothing more than to share this with his family and friends. Phil was intentional and generous with his time and was always looking for new friends, new adventures and memory making moments. He was a fierce protector of his family; deeply devoted and would proudly tell anyone that would listen about his love for his children and grandchildren. If you were ever around Phil you would know that he could light up a room with his storytelling skills and his ability to make people laugh.
He was a once in a lifetime kind of person; he’s irreplaceable and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Our lives will never be the same without him here, but he leaves a legacy of love, devotion, generosity and adventure that will be passed down for generations to come.

The Visitation and Service will be held outside. The Celebration of Life service will be held in the woods by the lake, so feel free to dress up or come casual. There is a gravel path that leads through the woods to the location of the service.
In Lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation at www.twrf.net. Dad was an avid outdoorsman and loved taking others out to experience Gods wonderful creation.
