
LAFEVER, Chester age 85, born and raised in Nashville, one of five children to the late Arthur C. and Hattie LaFever. Preceded in death by his beloved wife June, and his three sisters. Survived by his brother Bill (Ann) LaFever, children Craig, Larry and Tina; grandchildren, Chad, Lauren, Luke and Gracie. Graduated from East High School, and served during WWII as a torpedo man in the Pacific Theatre until the war’s end. After the war, he entered Peabody College, where he met his bride of over 60 years, June. After graduating from Peabody, he began his life-long career as an educator. He eventually served as principal at Two Rivers High School and was honored to be the first principal at McGavock High School, where he remained until his retirement. He also devoted two years as principal of Donelson Christian Academy. From early childhood until the present, Chester joyfully worshipped at Grace Baptist Church, as a teacher and a deacon. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Grace Baptist Church, 1510 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville, TN, with visitation on Tuesday, from 3:00-8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, and Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until service time at the church.
