Dorothy Nell Pittman, age 91, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Born in Drakesboro, Kentucky Sunday, November 25, 1923 to the late Dora Waggoner and Rufus Hardison and she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Pittman.
Mrs. Pittman was an active member of Faith Baptist Church; taught Sunday school for 30 years at Neelys Bend Baptist Church; during her working life, she was a crossing guard at Stratton School and retired from Lifeway (Baptist Sunday School Board).
Mrs. Pittman is survived by her children, Jim (Beverly) Pittman, Becky (Leland) Smith; grandchildren, Jeffery (Angie) Pittman, Leigh Pittman, Doug (Jess) Smith, Andrew Smith; great-grandchildren, Kasey (Cameron) Leatherwood, Jeffrey Pittman, Bobby Pittman, Brandon Ellington, Tucker Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 Saturday, July 25, 2015 in the chapel of Forest Lawn with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
