A cherished resident of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Dorothy was known for her steadfast devotion to her family, her faith, and her incredible ability to connect with those around her.
Born on March 31, 1931, Dorothy was the only child who was mostly raised by her grandmother and aunt, Thelma. Dorothy later named her oldest child Thelma as a tribute to her beloved aunt. After completing her education, she graduated from Draughon's Business College.

In her leisure time, Dorothy enjoyed cooking Southern fare like fried corn, fried chicken, and chicken balls, as well as baking brownies with icing. She was always eager to dine out, particularly at her favorite spots, Texas Roadhouse and J. Alexanders. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and prayed over them every single day.
A devout Baptist her entire life, Dorothy most recently attended New Life Baptist Church. She was a familiar face at her hairdresser appointments every Thursday and enjoyed reminiscing about family gatherings, especially lunches after church and hosting Christmas Eve celebrations at her home.
Dorothy was also known for her vibrant personality, her love of laughter, and a sense of humor that left a lasting impression on everyone. She was a great storyteller, often saying "I love you" to those around her, ensuring they felt cherished.
