

She is survived by her husband James; daughter Kathleen Hooge (Robert); sons Mark and John (Cindy); daughter-in-law Karen; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Florence was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey and moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 13. She met James during WWII and they were married in 1946. Florence worked as Payroll Clerk at Baylor University where James was a student. After James graduation from Baylor and Southwestern Seminary, she worked in churches with James in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and at Inglewood Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition to raising four children Florence was actively involved in working with Adults in Sunday School. Following that, she became Nursery Division director for Inglewood Baptist Church. She was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. As an experienced and trained Preschool leader Florence worked at both Glorieta and Ridgecrest Baptist Conference Centers in New Mexico and North Carolina, respectively.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Inglewood Baptist Church with the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Dr. Kevin Shrum officiating. Followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
