Geneva Marie Bates, aged 91, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020, she was born to Noah and Louise Wingo in Davidson County, Thursday, October 11, 1928.

Geneva graduated from Joelton High School in 1946 and went to work at National Life Insurance. In 1955, she married Earl L. Bates and embarked on a life as a military wife. She was a homemaker and an expert quilter. Geneva was predeceased by her husband and brothers James and Leo and sisters Viola and Agnes. Geneva is survived by daughters Barbara Bates and Connie Calloway and grandson Dean Calloway, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be conducted 10:00 Thursday, January 9, 2020 at graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will gather to remember Mrs. Bates at a visitation Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 4:00 until 8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 S. Dickerson Road Goodlettsville, Tennessee
