Henry Gordon Napier, age 90, departed this life on June 27, 2020 in Springfield, Tennessee. Henry was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Shade and Kittie Martin Napier. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After he served in the military, he went to work for the Ford Glass Plant, were he worked for over 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Pauline Wood Napier; siblings, Sherman Napier, Radford Napier, Ed Napier and Joe Napier and son-in-law, John W. Johnson, II.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Johnson of Old Hickory, Tennessee and Betty M. (James) Shelby of Springfield, Tennessee; grandchildren, John W. (Amy) Johnson, III; Lauren Johnson, Sarah Shelby, Mya Baker and Gloria Kane; several great-grand children and a host of nieces nephews and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the evening at Forestlawn Funeral Home on Monday, June 29, 2020 and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. in the morning on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Forestlawn Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Mulholland Officiating.
Interment to follow in Forestlawn Memorial Gardens
