

YOUNG, Jacqueline Ann Age 71 of Nashville. Born September 21, 1941 to the late Ernest Gordon and Sarah Helen Evans Young. Ms. Young was called home, September 29, 2012. Survived by daughter, Rosalind A. (David) Dingle of Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Yvonne M. Brown and Alfreda P. (David T. ) Heard; brother, Ernest H. Young; uncle, James Moore; special and close cousin, Joan Evans; special friends, Lacille Ruiz, James Jordon, James Whittaker, Marjel “Dee Dee” Hendrix; her pet, Benji; a host of other relatives and friends. Her personality was electric, very passionate and loved life. She was a member of Community Christian Church where Rev. Terry Peaks is the pastor. The Young family was the members of the Original Church of God located at 14th and Phillips Street for many years. Jackie was a dedicated “doorkeeper”, advisor of the Junior Usher Board and certainly considered ushering as her calling. Jackie attended Washington Jr High School where she was a “High Stepping” majorette in the marching band. Also as a 1960 Pearl High School graduate, she was an outstanding “cheerleader”. She also attended Wilson Jr College in Chicago, IL. Her accomplishments: (a) she was the first African American female golfer in the state of Tennessee also a “wild cat” on the links and won many major tournaments.

(c) She has won many trophies being a “star” playing on well-known bowling leagues
