James "Jim" Wayne Barrett

James "Jim" Wayne Barrett, age 87, of Joelton, Tennessee passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, August 16, 2021. Jim was born Monday, July 9, 1934 in Old Hickory, Tennessee and was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lucille Barrett and his son, James (Jimmy) Barrett, Jr.

Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara; son, William "Marty" Barrett; daughter-in-law, Nancy Barrett; granddaughter, Bailee Barrett; sister Fay Schroeder.

After retiring form 39 years in the linen-uniform business, he continued his love of hunting, fishing and woodworking; but he was most proud of his granddaughter and two sons. He also loved to sing and was a member of 1st Baptist Joelton's choir. As a lifelong follower of Christ he enjoyed his service to others.

A visitation for Jim will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Tennessee, followed by a a celebration of life at 2:00 PM with Bro. David Royalty officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Ford, Sterling Anderson, Joe Morgan, Wilburn Field, Mike Field and Bob McCain.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes contributions be made to "Children's Fund" at 1st Baptist Joelton
