HOOVER, JR., James E. Age 85 of Clarksville. Formerly of Nashville. June 29, 2010. Preceded in death by parents, James E. Sr. & Ludie Stroud Hoover; brothers, Burton & Frank Hoover. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Elvedia Taylor Hoover; daughter, Donna (Steve) Springer; granddaughter, Emily Grace Springer. Mr. Hoover was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather & friend. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Trousdale as a radio operator in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a long time member of Hillhurst Baptist Church where he was a Deacon & Church Clerk. He also taught the 3 year old Sunday School class for 45 years. James retired from NES after 40 years of service. A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Forest Lawn Chapel, with Brother Jessie Tharpe officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers are nephews & friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
