Jimbo passed away peacefully in his sleep early in the morning of Saturday, November 28th with Brenda by his side. He is preceded in death by his mother, Frances D. Lanier, his father, James H. Lanier, and his brother, William E. “Bill” Lanier.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Lanier, brother Wayne Lanier (Susan), sister Gail Lanier (Steve Moore), daughters Kelly Kaylor (Tim), and Kim Harrington (Dan). Grandchildren Trenton (Joelle) and Trevor Tinsley, Pete Harrington, Abby Harrington, Brandon Kaylor (Haylee), Becca Kaylor (Chris).
Great grandchild Grace Marie Kaylor. And so many friends there’s no room to list.
A caring husband, brother and father, Jimbo tore up the field and courts in the ‘70’s then golf courses all over ever since. He never met a sport he didn’t love and few of which he didn’t excel.
But by far his favorite role was that of Dad and Papa, first helping his daughters grow to be beautiful strong women and incredible mothers. After this came Papa, first to super cute and active twin boys, Trenton and Trevor, then came along another handsome handful, Pete. After this along came Abby, who came to be the light in his eye. He was a natural! The perfect balance of guidance and kindness, strength and patience.
All the stories shared over the past few days have shown just how many lives Jimbo has and continues to touch. R.I.P. #34, you will be missed.
