

He was born in Old Hickory on March 8, 1927. Jim was a resident of Madison, TN for more than 60 years. He was a Superintendent at the Ford Glass Plant for 35 years retiring in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Essie Mabry; brother Robert Mabry and sisters Margaret Mabry Vaughn and Mackie Mabry Painter.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Anita Laverne (Shipman) Mabry; sons Bradford Mabry (Denise) and Mike Mabry (Nancy); and daughter Nita Mabry Baggott (Benny). He was a beloved Grandfather "Pops" to David and Josh Mabry, Sam and Meghan Mabry and A.J. and Joey Baggott. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Jim enlisted and fought with the US Navy in WWII and was proud to be a veteran having served active duty on the USS Enterprise from 1944-1946. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and most all sports with his family. Jim was a man of extraordinary character and loyalty. His legacy will be long remembered and honored as a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather.
Family will receive friends on Monday, October 30 from 6-8pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 31 at 11am at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
