McCLURG, James Lawrence, born September 1, 1919 in Rockford, TN to the late Joe W. & Bess French McClurg. Passed away November 29, 2011, Antioch, TN Also preceded in death by sister, Barbara Caylor; first wife, Fleta Carpenter McClurg. Survived by wife of 31 years, Dimple Givens McClurg; sons, Steve McClurg & David (Frances) McClurg; grandson, Chris McClurg; step-son, Jimmy (Jenny) Oles; sister, Georgia Caylor; nieces & nephews. Mr. McClurg was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II & was a charter member of Hillcrest Methodist Church. He was employed by several clothing manufacturers, supervising the cutting departments. He was an avid fly fisherman & enjoyed square dancing for 25 years. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor & love of life. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Hillcrest Methodist Church with James Cole officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
