

McCready, Janet, Aug. 5, 1922-May 5, 2013, died peacefully at Brighton Gardens, Brentwood, TN. Preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Harry McCready, her brother Joe, her sister, Margaret McCready Fulton. Survived by: her children, J. Mack Bailey (Margaret), Hop Bailey, lll (Dr. Mary), Janet Bailey Huffman(Dr. Bill), grandchildren: Blair Bailey, Robert Bailey(Dr. Marcy), Kathleen Bailey, Alan Huffman (Shawn), Mandie Huffman Nimitz (Ken), 6 great grandchildren, niece, Barbara Fulton Hillard (Dewey), nephew Robert Fulton(Sharon) and special friends, Nancy MacLean, Charlie Washam.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee, member of Chi Omega Fraternity, Jr. League of Knoxville, Second Presbyterian Church and Ascension Episcopal Church of Knoxville. After retiring to Franklin in 2002, she joined JL Clay retirement Center and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Janet was an artist, an adventurer, an avid gardener and antique collector. She was a charismatic, enthusiastic mother and grandmother, leaving her family and friends with many wonderful memories. She will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Brighton Gardens for their kindness during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Franklin, TN, for its many ministries.
Visitation is Monday, May 13th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 510 W. Main Street, Franklin, TN, with memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
