Jenny Margaret Roberson Yearwood was born June 21, 1936, to John Roy and Mary Alice Roberson. Jenny was the oldest of 8. She attended school in Williamson County. She met her husband, Dorris D. Yearwood, while working at Sunbeam Bread Company. They were married for 47 years. Jenny retired from Werthan Industries after 35 years of service as a Computer Operator and Payroll Clerk. Jenny was a member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ. She loved the Lord and her church family.
Jenny loved the game of softball. She played most of her adult life on various teams, sometimes playing on two teams at once. Her most proud moments were spent playing as a Senior Olympian. She was a member of the Tennessee Seniors that played across the United States and won the Gold Medal multiple times as well as winning the Bronze and Silver Medals and is listed in the 2003 edition of Who’s Who in the National Seniors Games Association. Jenny loved watching Tennessee Vols play football and watching the Lady Vols Softball Team. Jenny went to every sporting event her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated in to cheer them on; always with a smile of encouragement.
Jenny passed away on October 21, 2020. She spent her last 2 years at Grace Manor Assisted Living. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and especially her caregiver, Donna Gill. Donna went above and beyond to take care of Jenny and she thought of Donna as her personal nurse and friend.
Jenny adored her family. She enjoyed spending time with them at every opportunity. Jenny looked forward to all the holiday and birthday gatherings and enjoyed preparing dinner and having everyone in her home to celebrate Christmas every single year.
In addition to her mother and father, Jenny was predeceased by her husband, Dorris D Yearwood, sister, Evelyn Sloan, brother, J B Roberson, Daughter-In-Law, Terry Veach, and Grandson, Randall Veach. She is survived by brothers, Roy and Henry Roberson and sisters, Ethel Richmond, Ann Adams and Barbara Tidwell and Sister-In-Law, Edith Mummell. Jenny is survived by sons, Johnny Veach and Jerry (Pam) Yearwood, daughter, Judy (David) Longworth. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jonathan (Hannah) Longworth, William (Lucy) Longworth, Lauren (Travis) Jacobs, and Lindsey (Chad) Wisniewksi. Jenny had 9 great-grandchildren, Windsor, Jon Crewe, and Brynlee Longworth, Jackson and Leah Jacobs, Kaydence and Gabrielle Wisniewski, Uriah and Kelton Veach. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Services for Jenny will be Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Forest Lawn, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with the service beginning at 3:00 pm. The service will be officiated by Charles Baugh. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Goodlettsville Church of Christ, 411 S Main Street, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
