Jimmie Lee Hampton

Jimmie Lee Hampton - age 79 passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012. He was born Wednesday, March 29, 1933 in De Kalb, Mississippi to the late Howard and Ednola Scott Hampton and is preceded in death by his sons, Michael Hampton and Jimmie Lee Hampton, Jr.; and brother, Willie Roosevelt Hampton.

He entered the United States Army as a 9th grade drop-out in Hueytown, Alabama. He retired February 1982 as a Master Sergeant, with 30 years 3 days in the US Army; completing over 600 parachute jumps; and earning his Master's Degree in Psychology; he subsequently retired from Civil Service after 16 years.

Mr. Hampton is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rosemarie Himbert Hampton; daughters, Sandra Butler, Gloria Hampton; son, Patrick Hampton, Sr.; brothers, James Earl Hampton, Johnny Howard Hampton, Otis Hampton; grandchildren, Ronald Butler, Patrick Hampton, Jr., Marcus Peterson; great-grandchildren, Aylin, Josue and Aaliyah Butler.

Funeral services and burial, with full military honors, will be held 2:00 Friday, October 12, 2012 at Middle Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation to remember Mr. Hampton Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 South Dickerson Road Goodlettsville, TN 37072
