YATES, John Thomas “Johnny” – born March 13, 1923 in Dickson County. Preceded in death by parents, Mary and James K. Yates; brothers, Jethro (Mabelle), Luther (Mary Leslie), Wilburn, Armon Lee and Herbert Yates; sisters, Carmon (Brady) Moran and Harriet (Jim) McCord; daughter-in-law, Beverly Yates; and grandson, Christopher Wayne Yates. Survived by wife of 66 years, Dorothy M. Clark Yates; sons, Wayne, Michael (Janice) and Steve (Lynn) Yates; grandchildren, Greg (Kathy), Daniel (Patrick), Kevin (Rachel), Kristin, Steven and Spencer Yates; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Juanita Yates; and several nieces and nephews. Served in WWII and retired from Ford Glass Plant. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Funeral service will be on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:00 AM, with visitation Sunday from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
