Johnny W. Vannatta age 85, of Goodlettsville, TN passed away August 15, 2016. Johnny served in Germany with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He is a retired Sergeant from the Nashville Metro Police Department.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mattie Vannatta; grandparents, Ned and Clara Driver; brother, Hoover Vanatta.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Blanche Vannatta; daughters, Vicky Rhea (Robert) and Kimberly Smith (Tony); grandchildren, Danny Cook, Caleb Cook, Alex Rhea, Jessica Rhea, Lindsey Smith, Kaitlyn Smith and Emily Smith; great-grandchildren, Caley Cook, Kendall Cook, Cora Cook, Hannah Cook and Emma Cook; sister, Lena Doss.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 12 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A Military Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
