Joseph Monroe Stone

Joseph Monroe Stone of White House, TN passed away Sept. 2, 2015 with his only child Lorenda at his side. Mr. Stone, 81, was born July 24, 1934, in Ansted, WV, to Carl Shulz Stone and Maggie Irene Pauley Stone. He is preceded in death by brother Leonard Stone, sisters Reba Vick, Ruth Lindamood, and Betty Gill. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorena Eastman Stone, daughter Lorenda Stone (Bob) Ashayeri, granddaughter Loren, sister Nellie (Allen) Treadway, brother Jack (Retha) Stone, many nephews and nieces. Joe and his family moved to White House, TN, in 1974, to be active in church life with his family. He was a master printer, working for various printing companies until purchasing Gallatin Printing Co. 1986, a company still owned by his daughter and son-in-law. Joe’s faithful love and devotion to his wife and family, along with his generosity will live in our hearts. His Christian witness--caring for others and giving of himself--his love for playing bass and singing gospel music were all special facets of Joe’s dear character. Memorial service will be held Sun. Sept. 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Goodlettsville with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will also be at Forest Lawn, Saturday from 4-8 p.m.
