Joseph Elzie Willis

Joseph Elzie Willis, age 83, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023. Joseph was born Monday, October 14, 1940 in Albany, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, E. O. and Emma Lou Sutton Willis; brother Don Willis.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy Helen Willis, son, Dan (Vickie) Willis; grandson, Jordan (Maricar) Willis; great-grandson, Josep Harold Wills; sister, Sue Willis Felts; many nieces and nephews.

Joe began his career as a chemist and later had a second career as an independent computer programmer and consultant. He had many hobbies during his lifetime that included programming, photography, painting, and flying. He loved classical music and was a voracious reader.

Joe loved to spend time with family. We would especially like to thank his long-time physician, Dr. Edwin B. Anderson, Jr. and the staff of Alive Hospice for their care and compassion.

The family asks that any memorial donations be directed to Alive Hospice.

A family graveside service for Joseph will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 12:30 PM in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Garden of Love, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
