Kathy was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 12, 1959, to James and Martha Bryant. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1977, and married her husband William (Bill) Anderton Jr. at age 18 on January 19, 1978. They were married 41 happy years, and raised one daughter, Kayla Marie Anderton.
Kathy had a smile that lit up the room. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. She spent as many summers on the beach as she could, and enjoyed the simple things, like having a good time with friends and family. She enjoyed films and television programs, particularly her favorite soap opera, The Young and the Restless, which she never missed (even at work.) She worked for the Metro Police Department for 41 years, and became known as the “face of PASS” during her time with Police Advocacy Support Services. She was a kind heart wrapped up in a firecracker personality, and was loved by so many.
She devoted much of her time and energy over the last few years caring for her mother, Martha, until she passed at age 85. And devoted her life to her husband, Bill, and daughter, Kayla.
She is preceded in death by her father, James, and mother, Martha; father-in-law, William (Bill) Anderton Sr.; brother-in-law, Scott Smith; and sister-in-law, Kathy Watson.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Kayla; sisters Vickie North and Glenda Smith; mother-in-law, Sue Anderton; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Vicki Anderton; and many nieces and nephews.
