Mr. Thomason a veteran of the US Navy and retired from teaching after 30 plus years from the Metropolitan Nashville School system having taught at Rose Park, Stratford and Maplewood.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Thomason; daughters, Cindy (Jim) Webb, Linda (Mark) Williams; brother, Maurice Thomason; sisters, Annie Ruth Roden, Betty Sue Johnson; grandchildren, Tiffany Irvine, Catherine Evans, Carli Scott, Ethan Williams; great-grandchildren, Lily Irvine, Emma James Irvine, Kannon Vaughn, Harper Evans.
A celebration of life will be conducted 1:00 Tuesday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. John Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be, Andy Irvine, Gabe Evans, Ethan Williams, Richard Thomason, Jim Webb, Jim Webb, Jr.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Thomason at a visitation Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 11:00 until the 1:00 service.
