The second of three children, Lloyd Gray Proctor was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 7, 1928, to the late Buist Huston Proctor and Elizabeth Fuqua Proctor. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; sister, Lucille; two wives, Laura Nell Proctor and Kathleen Proctor; and his son, Gerald Gray Proctor.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lottie Redding Proctor; daughter, Brenda Wagner (Doug); stepson, Robert Guy (Carrie); and sister-in-law, Edna Redding Burlason (Joe). As a loving grandfather, he enjoyed spending time and spoiling his 4 grandchildren, Michelle White (Billy), Kathy Kauffman (Chris), Heather Guy Meekins (Jeremy), and Joshua Guy (Janie). Lloyd was blessed to have 10 great-grandchildren, Morgan White Litchford (Arthur), Madison White Goad (Neal), Will White (Skylar), Alisha Kauffman, Dale Kauffman, Elizabeth Kauffman, Benjamin Meekins, AJ Meekins, Garrett Meekins, and Lucas Guy. His joy didn’t stop with all those great-grandchildren. Lloyd had 2 great-great grandsons, Bently Goad and Dawson Goad. Lloyd’s first job was working for Vaughn’s Pharmacy in Nashville delivering prescriptions to customers. After that he worked for DuPont for 10 years. Lloyd then went to work for Ford Glass plant in Nashville in July 1957, and he retired 35 years later in August 1992. He also served on the Hendersonville Police Department throughout the 1990s. In his spare time, he loved to work on cars, go deer hunting, and travel. Lloyd and Lottie took many adventures with his cousin, Margaret and her husband, Theo, in a Ford van traveling across the USA taking in the sights. He was always up for a challenge as a handy man around the house and ready at a moment’s notice to help when called by family or friends needing help with building or yard projects. Lloyd had a heart full of love. He always had a smile when he saw you and lots of kisses and hugs to share.
Lloyd was a born again Christian and was baptized in April 2001. Lloyd was ready to meet his Savior and see his mansion over the hilltop.
Serving as pallbearers will be Will White, Neal Goad, Arthur Litchford, and Mark See.
