Marilyn Irene Wilson

Marilyn Irene Wilson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, devoted nurse, and cherished friend, was born on April 27, 1949 in the city of Seattle, Washington. Her life has been a tapestry of care, compassion, and deep-rooted faith, woven with threads of dedication to her family, her profession, and her community.

Marilyn's journey into the healing profession began with her pursuit of a nursing degree from Tennessee State University. In 1981, she embarked on a remarkable 30-year career as a Registered Nurse, where she poured her heart into the demanding fields of ICU and oncology. Her colleagues and patients remember her as a beacon of hard work and unconditional compassion, offering solace and strength to those in their most vulnerable moments.

Marilyn's life was a testament to her belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her acts of kindness and generosity touched countless lives, reflecting her open warmth and endearment for all she encountered. Marilyn's home was a reflection of her love for family and her rich cultural heritage, embracing both Greek and Native American Indian themes. She transformed her living space into a haven of festivity and warmth, especially during the holidays, when her home became a welcoming retreat for family and friends alike.

Her legacy of love and resilience continues through her surviving family members: her sister Patricia Beeson; her sons, Jason and Michael Wilson; her daughters-in-law, Tina Rice Wilson and Sally Bowker Wilson; and her cherished grandchildren, Chloe Wilson, Conrad Wilson, Ada Wilson, and Corrine McArthur. Marilyn was predeceased by her brothers, Bob Pennock and Mick Bakhus, who remain lovingly remembered.

Marilyn's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Senior Living and Gentiva Hospice in Goodlettsville, TN, whose kindness and care will forever be cherished in their hearts.

A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Tuesday, September 15th, at 11AM with mausoleum entombment to follow.
