Mary Ann Benton, 88, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, passed away on October 28, 2026. Born on January 25, 1938, in Old Hickory, Mary Ann spent her life finding joy in the simple things and the activities she loved.
An avid gardener with a genuine love for plants, Mary Ann enjoyed tending to her garden and watching things grow. She had a natural appreciation for greenery and found happiness in caring for her plants. She also loved puzzles of all kinds, often spending her time working through a new challenge. Whether tending to her plants or enjoying a puzzle, Mary Ann appreciated the quiet pleasures of everyday life.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Goble Wheeler and June Kathleen Anderson Wheeler; her brother, William Henry Wheeler; and her sister, Linda Lee Wheeler.
She is survived by her son, Michael Eugene (Amy) Benton; her daughters, Tammy Renee (Robert) James and Tonia Denice Benton Threadgill; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann will be fondly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
