Mary Elizabeth Shelton

Mary Elizabeth Stubblefield Shelton, age 85, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Born in Nashville, Thursday, May 8, 1930 she is preceded in death by her parents, Bryant and Mamie Dyer Stubblefield; and husband, Woodrow who passed away in 2006.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by her sons, Woody (Deborah) Shelton, Michael (Jody) Shelton; sister, Bobbie Padour; 5 grandchildren, Bryan (Amy) Shelton, Deena (Kevin) Beattie, Bonnie (Chris) Anderson, Sherry (Chad) Hutton, Rachel (Steve) Gray, Trina Clancy, Craig Willard and 8 great-grandchildren, Cameron Gray, Ericka Hutton, Everett Hutton, Elizabeth Hutton, Eli Hutton, Bennett Shelton, Lucas Shelton, Angelica Castro.

Mrs. Shelton enjoyed shopping at her favorite stores, Macy's and Dillard's, and she dressed to the 9's. She was a wife and mom first; planning and cooking those full family meals.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 Friday, September 11, 2015 in the chapel of Forest Lawn with Pastor Chad Hutton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will gather to remember Mrs. Shelton at a visitation Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 and Friday, September 11, 2015 from 12:00 - 2:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 S. Dickerson Pk. Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
