Melba Jean Powell

Melba Jean Powell, age 85, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014. Born Wednesday, January 16, 1929, in Williamson County, Tennessee to the late Reuben Washington and Birdie Hazel Sullivan Green. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Powell; her siblings, Cloyd Green, Mary Katherine Stewart, Lloyd Green, Prentice Green, Gilbert Green.

A home maker, she is survived by her daughters, Kathi (Joseph)Todd Keller, Lesa (Greg) Todd Taylor; son, Dan H. (Theresa) Todd; sisters, Earlene Jones, Reubena Pridy, Ruth Robertson, Judy Green; brother, Cecil Green; grandchildren, Stacie, Michael, Jason, Ashlee, Kyle, Kelsey, Paxton; eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in the chapel of Forest Lawn with Rev. T. J. Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers, Greg Taylor, Joseph Keller, Kyle Taylor, Michael Brown, Dan Todd and Jeff Stewart.

Family and friends will gather to remember Mrs. Powell at a visitation Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home .
