Melvin Thomas age 82 passed away Thursday October 27, 2011. Born in Nashville, TN Tuesday June 11, 1929 to the late Bud Alexander and Alice Lucille Williams Parkhurst; a cabinet maker, he was a Navy veteran, a professional magician, a professional clown and a member of Hermitage Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Nixon Parkhurst; sons Tom (Debbie) Parkhurst, Ken (Janet) Parkhurst; brother Calvin (Dorothy) Parkhurst; grandchildren Justin (Annie), Lauren and Logan Parkhurst; great-grandchildren Jonathan, Launi and Mary-Anne .
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 Monday October 31, 2011 at Hermitage Church of The Nazarene 4151 Saundersville Rd, Old Hickory; Pastor Howard Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Robertson County Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
Pallbearers: Stan Allen, Henry Staggs, Morris Filson, Terry Swann, Chris Swann, Charles Street. Honorary: Early Christian Sunday School Class, Robert L. Wilson, Delmar Watson, Gary Hayes, Jim Ford.
