I met Mike Daniel when working for TN Dept of Employment Security.   He was one of my favorites 😍.   Always kind and pleasant.   My deepest sympathy to his family.

I knew Mike from afar while I was in the Chattanooga DOL&WFD Office with the Veterans Program.  Despite some of my missteps he was always supportive and helped me understand.  After assuming the State Veterans Coordinator position he was my direct supervisor and always gave me the largest sandbox to work in.  Always enjoyed my trips to Nashville - happy hour and the conferences.  Bless you Mike.


Mike was such a joy to work with. He taught me the job service system that I was so intimidated by and he could make a person feel like they could do anything with guidance. Though I haven't spoken to Mike in a long time, it would be a long  time before I forgot him either. Much love, prayers and sharing of grief to all of his family and close friends.

My deepest condolences. Mike retired shortly after I started but he always brightened the workplace with a smile. It was truly a pleasure to have known him.

I'm so sorry to hear! Mike was a tremendous man, I was lucky to have him help guide me early in my career. He will be missed.

Mike was one of the good ones higher up that genuinely cared about us serving the public in local offices helping people find jobs, file for unemployment, special training programs. Mike really supported the veterans employment programs which I risked in.   I’m so glad I got to see him in the last few years. I enjoyed all that conversations I’ve had with him. 

My words are not adequate to express my love for Mike Daniel.  I had the privilege and blessings of knowing and working with him for over 35 years.  He was a truly fine man! Mike always had a smile and a laugh,  even through his trials of the past 2 years. He cared for others and he drew them to himself with his warm gentle spirit. He was my very close dear friend and just like a brother to me.  We shared many wonderful happy times together and I cherish those precious memories! Mike was always there for you in the tough times as well. My heart is heavy with his loss but I know that he’s now at peace in heaven with his beloved Pat. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I will miss you my friend. Until we meet again…

Mike was a genuine, caring person.  I always admired the way he stepped up and took care of the state veterans program as a part time gig, doing a great job, all the while simultaneously doing his primary job as well.  As I recall he did this for a couple years. Always a nice guy, Mike had kind word for everyone.  

I worked with Mike at the state Dept of Labor and Workforce Development for many years.  He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.  My condolences for his family.

I first met Mike about 10 years ago working at TNDOL in the Job Service Division.  We worked together managing the participant tracking system ECmats. Over the years we spent many hours in meetings, telling jokes, going out to eat at( 3rd Ave Kitchen), and going out to meet friends after work. We came to be good coworkers and friends. Mike was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back, check to make sure you were ok and give you money if you needed it. He was a great man.  I will always be greatful of the time we shared and the memories we created. Go  Rest in Peace.  Your friend Ryan Allen.
