Mitchell Douglas Lewis, Sr. 94, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Born Thursday, March 1, 1923 in Dover, Tennessee he is preceded in death by his parents Newt and Nellie Earhart Lewis; his wife of 70 years, Mary Pearl Lewis.
Mr. Lewis, a veteran of the US Army 75th infantry; received the Battle Star (Battle of the Bulge during WWII); a lineman for Nashville Electric Service and he is big into cars, especially antiques.
He is survived by his children, Mitch (Mary) Lewis, Melba Lewis, Mark (Debbie) Lewis, Melinda (Bruce) White; sister, Nell Ree Mayhew; grandchildren, Scotty (Claudia) Lewis, Marki Rae Lewis, Madie Grace Lewis; great-grandson, Gunnar Lewis; faithful companion Peggy Ann.
A celebration of life will be conducted 10:00 Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the chapel of Forest Lawn; Bro. Ray Frizzell, Jr. officiating; burial with military honors will follow.
