Myrtle Mae Smith

Myrtle Mae Smith - age 92 of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Saturday December 10, 2011. She was born Sunday June 8, 1919, in College Grove, TN, to William Byrom and Corrie Reed Stacey. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William E. Smith, sisters Sarah Geneva Wasserman, Beuna Francis Andrews, Ruby Reed Watts and Pauline Parkhurst, as well as brothers Robert Lavert Stacey and William Paul Stacey.

She is survived by her son Kenneth L. Smith (Cindy), granddaughter Michelle Smith, great-grandson Chandler Morton, and a host of nieces and nephews. Myrtle will always be remembered for her warmth, sharp wit and humor.

She was a member of Eastland Baptist Church for over 70 years. The family expresses sincere appreciation for the loving care given Myrtle by the nurses and staff of Richland Health Care Center during the 5 years she lived there and Saint Thomas Alive Hospice during Myrtle’s final days.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, from 10 to noon with the funeral service to follow at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 1150 Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Eastland Baptist Church, 1215 Gallatin Avenue, Nashville, TN 37206.
