She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Mitchell; parents, Simpson and Harriett Deere. Nina is survived by daughters, Karen (Ron) Pendergrass, Harriett Underwood; 4 grandchildren, Katrina (Shawn) Zeligman, Joanie Underwood, Josh (Emily) Pendergrass, and Emily Clay; 5 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Nina graduated from Lexington High school and West Tennessee Business School in Jackson. She moved to Tullahoma and worked at Camp Forrest during World War II processing soldiers as they headed overseas. She worked for the civil service for 8 years and years later as a church secretary in several Baptist churches before retiring.
She loved God, her church, and her family. She had a special heart for missions. She was a member of First Baptist Church Goodlettsville for many years.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 17th at 10 am.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 17th at 12 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
