Norene (Padgett) Jernigan

Born to the late Ethel and Burt Padgett and the youngest of (9) children, Norene is also very recently preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of more than 60 years, JC; as well as (7) of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Morrison (Stewart), cherished grandchildren Wesley Morrison (Stephanie), Eric Morrison; her dear sister Vanella Whitaker of Anderson, IN; her sister-in-law Jessie Padgett of Crossville, TN; and many other beloved family and friends.

Born and raised in Tennessee, Norene was a Monterey High School graduate where she played basketball. She worked as a payroll clerk at Pirelli Tire Company for many years. After retirement, she worked at the Goodlettsville Help Center helping others. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved growing flowers and spending time with her family.

Family and faith were important to Norene. Norene and her husband, JC have been long-time, faithful members of First Baptist Church Ridgetop in Ridgetop, TN. Giving her life to Jesus as a teenager, Norene’s life mission was to share God’s love with others. She had a positive kindness and brought joy to anyone she met. She loved to make people laugh and she always had a beautiful smile to give. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 21st, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and again on Wednesday, February 22nd, beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of Chapel Service at 12:00 pm, all at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 1150 S. Dickerson Pike, Goodlettsville, TN. Interment to directly follow in the Garden of Peace.
