Owen F Sanders, age 93, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Owen was born Tuesday, June 7, 1932 in Nashville, Tennessee and is preceded in death by his wife Jo Sanders; parents, Walter and Clarice Sanders; siblings, Michael Sanders, Eugene Sanders and Gail Inman.
Owen was one of the owners of Sanders Manufacturing. He served the City of Goodlettsville Planning Commission. He was loved by everyone and enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf, racquetball, softball and even played semi-pro baseball. He was a long standing member of Bluegrass Country Club since 1958; he was also a founding member at Fairvue Country Club in Gallatin.
Owen is survived by his children, Sheri Calonge (Terry), Teri Sanders, Eric Sanders (Jennifer). Grandchildren: Scot Calonge, Ryan Calonge, Erica Myers (Lee), Jenna Sanders; Great-Grandchildren: Tanner Calonge, Presley Calonge, Greyson Calonge, Camden Calonge, Lyla Myers, Lucy Myers, Nolan Myers; sisters, Ann Waggoner and Betty Sue Cornish; sister and brother-in-law, Wayne and Linda Briggs.
Family and friends will gather to remember Owen at a visitation Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072 and Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
A celebration of life will be Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. Pastor Chris Seifert, officiating; neighbors, Rob and Marian Wheeler sharing remembrances.
Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Alan Banks, Philip Siever, Keith Edwards, Bob Frech, Tim Carnahan, Steve Smith, Barry Potts; serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Jo and Owen’s Grandsons and Great Grandsons and The Builders Sunday School Class at Connell Memorial UMC.
