Pat was born in Greeneville, KY to Conrad and Capitola Smith on Tuesday, May 15th, 1945. She grew up in Nashville, graduating from Maplewood High School in 1963.
She met her husband, Duck, on a blind date and they were wed in 1966. She worked in Human Resources for General Electric and Rogers Group. She happily retired in 2007 so she could pursue her other interests.
She enjoyed spending time in the garden and also crocheting and sewing. She often used these gifts to bless others and donated her handiwork to hospitals, churches and other charitable organizations.
She loved to travel-- highlights included trips to England and the Holy Land.
She was a long time member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville where she volunteered in the library and at the Family Ministry Center.
She very much loved spending time with her family and we're blessed with many precious memories from holidays, beach trips and all the fun and laughter we had together. She was a proud “Gran” to her three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald 'Duck' Goostree, infant son, Christopher Con Goostree and sister, Pam Wheeler
She is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa 'Missy' Loper and son- in- law Michael along with their children McKenzie, Ryne and Houston. Her sister Sue Seals of Hendersonville, TN.
Visitation will be Wednesday July 15th from 5-8 pm at Forest Lawn in Goodlettsville. Service will be at the chapel at First Baptist Church in Hendersonville July 16th at 10 am with visitation one hour prior.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Maple Cottage of Hendersonville, Front Porch Senior Living in Portland and Adoration Hospice for the excellent and loving care they provided to Pat and to all of the family during these last years.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Adoration Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
