Master Sargent (Ret) Raymond Pitzen, 65, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2020, following a heart attack. Ray was a decorated Air Force veteran who served honorably for 20 years earning multiple personal and unit commendations.
MSgt Pitzen was born on November 5, 1954, in Toledo, OH to his parents Harold and Marguerite Pitzen. He joined the Air Force after high school and spend many years overseas before finishing his distinguished career at Pope AFB in Spring Lake, NC.
Ray was a passionate NASCAR fan. He could be found most weekends between February and November at the race track or at home watching the races and cheering on his favorite drivers.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Marguerite; his brother Richard; and his wife, Geneva. He is survived by his two brothers, Russell (Kelly) and Ronald; his sister Rachel; his two sons, Wayne (Thea) and Jason; and his two grandchildren, Victoria and Willem.
