Robert George Koch Jr., (95) of Las Vegas, Nevada was welcomed into heaven on April 24, 2024. Bob was born on September 14, 1928 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. His mother, Alfreda, passed when he was 14 years old. His father, Robert Sr., moved the kids to California. His father passed in 1989. Predeceased are his siblings, Eunice (Boots), Audrey, Shirley and Ron. He loved going to the beach and surfing.
The day before his 18th birthday he enlisted into the Army. He served in World War II, marched in the victory parade for McArthur, and was in the Honor Guard at the Imperial Palace in Japan. He felt honored and proud to serve for his country.
After his service in the Army, he moved his family to Las Vegas and lived their for 68 years. He had a long career managing restaurants and bars. He had such a generous heart and would donate food to a local church every year.
Bob and Beth met at the bowling alley. They were members of the Moose Lodge and were on the bowling league. He was such a gentleman and with those kind, beautiful blue eyes Beth knew he was someone special. Bob and Beth fell deeply in love and married in 1989, 35 years of unconditional, one of a kind love.
Bob is survived by his son, Bobby and wife Anita, and his daughter, Teri.
He was an awesome “Bonus” dad to Shawn and wife Karen and Beth’s daughter, Sherry and husband Chuck. He loved us as if we were his own. Also loved and remembered by his Sister-in-law, Linda and husband Eloy. He was blessed with many nieces and nephews. He has a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren which he loved deeply: Aubree, Jennifer, Richelle, Jeff, Mike, Kenneth, Eric, Brittney, Jessica, Spencer, Melanie, Katie and over 20 great grandchildren. He also loved his devoted dog, Oreo.
Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease a few years ago. Even though he had short term memory he could recite word for word conversations he had with his father over 80 years ago. He passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of his wife, Beth in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
He was our family hero, our rock and will be missed deeply and held forever in our hearts.
I will see you again
This is not where it ends
I will carry you with me
Til I see you again
