Roger Newland, 76, passed away on March 13, 2026, at 11:45 a.m. Born September 23, 1949, Roger will be remembered as a cherished, humorous, and kind-hearted man whose presence brought comfort and steady warmth to those who knew him.
Roger loved fishing, hunting, camping, and farm life, and he took pride in raising cows—simple joys that reflected the life he valued and the peace he found outdoors. His easy humor and good heart were gifts to family and friends alike, and his memory will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched.
Roger was preceded in death by his grandchild, Justin Lee Newland; his mother, Violet Marie Donally; and his father, James Milton Newland.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Victoria Ruthann Newland, Amber Hallum, Keyaira Hallum, and Broc Hallum; his great-grandchildren, Aubree Ryman, Rylee Ryman, Maelee Ryman, Mattdox Ryman, Enzlee Ryman, and Hudson Hallum; his sons, Robert Lee Newland and Ryker Doc Newland; his daughter, Angela Renee Hallum; and his step-son, Caleb Fiddler.
Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072, on March 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on March 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens on March 20, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. , followed by a Committal Service at 1:00 p.m.
