Ronald was a graduate of Maplewood High School. He served in the US Army during Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medal of honor.
Preceded in death by his son, Rodney Appleby; parents, George and Dorothy Appleby; brother, Thomas Appleby.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah J. Appleby; daughters, Melisa A Appleby and Christina M. Williams; grandchildren, Kyle Appleby, Zachary Appleby, Kelcie VanCamp, Ryan Chapman, Austin Chapman and Avery Chapman; great-grandchildren, Layla Chapman and Grant VanCamp; brothers, John Appleby, Kerry Appleby and Mark Appleby; sister, Judy Moore; a host of other beloved family members and friends.
A funeral service will occur 12:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Mark Appleby officiating. A military burial will follow at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Eddie Winnett, Bobbie Winnett, Johnny Appleby, Mark Appleby, Kerry Appleby, Austin Chapman, Avery Chapman, Ryan Chapman and Michael Schmohe.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Monday, November 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home.
