Nena was born on April 16, 1934 to Cathleen and Grady Culberson in Sylacauga, Alabama. After high school she went on to study secretarial skills and graduated from Auburn University in 1953. She worked as an executive secretary for many years at Horace Small Manufacturing Company and later at Stratos Boats. Nena was a proud member of Matthews Memorial United Methodist Church for over 65 years where she loved volunteering for the clothing store and was a routine choir member. She was also an active member of the United Methodist Women’s group. Her favorite hobbies included playing piano, painting, quilt making and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her pies, pancakes, art, music, smiles and doing word puzzles.
Nena is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harrison Beaty (CH); their two children Rusty (Pam) and Cam (Diane); four grandchildren Ryan, Lora, Taylor (Carman) and Morgan; two great-grandchildren Madison and Lincoln and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 12pm until 2pm followed by a service at 2pm at the funeral home.
