Ms. Sandra Branham Miller, 73, entered into eternal rest on July 30, 2018.
Sandra was born on October 23, 1944 in Baltimore, MD where her late parents Mr. Nelson (Mildred) Branham worked at Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company building bomber planes in support of World War II. At wars end, the family returned to their home state of Tennessee.
Sandra grew up in Goodlettsville, TN. She graduated from Goodlettsville High School in 1962. After graduation, she pursued a bachelor's degree in education at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, TN. She resided and taught in Cocoa Beach, FL for two years. She then moved to Knoxville to earn her master's degree at the University of Tennessee in Library Science. Sandra married her beloved husband Raymond Miller (deceased) on December 12, 1969. She was a devoted wife, mother, and dedicated educator/librarian with Nashville Metropolitan Public-School District. She retired in 2007 from Chadwell Elementary following 30 years of dedicated service. Sandra was a faithful member at Hillhurst Baptist Church and later at Faith Baptist Church in Madison, TN. She served her Lord through teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and serving on various church committees.
Sandra is survived by daughter Ms. Cathy Miller Meeks and son Mr. Steven (Anita) Miller; mother-in-law Ms. Bernice Miller; grandchildren Ryan Miller, Mattie Miller, Emily Miller, Logan Meeks; sister Mrs. Betty (Dave) Branham Roberts. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. Raymond C. Miller; parents Mr. Nelson Branham and Mrs. Mildred Branham; sister Miss Linda Ruth Branham.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2nd from 4-8pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Baptist Church located at 1602 Gallatin Pike North, Madison, TN. on Friday, August 3rd at 11am with visitation two hours prior to service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request that you make a monetary donation to either The Bridge Homeless Ministry at www.bridgeministry.org or Faith Baptist Church Appalachian Christmas Backpack Mission Project.
